Gayl Wright posted this beautiful blessing after having struggled with sleeplessness for several nights. I often have seasons of sleeplessness myself and know many others that struggle with insomnia. Try reading this before going to bed tonight – even if you don’t struggle to fall asleep it is a great bedtime blessing

Sleep, my child
Be at peace
God is watching
protecting, loving
Draw near to Him
Let yourself relax
Close your eyes
and sleep
Tomorrow will come
a brand new day
Fill it with love
joy and gratitude
Be a light to
those around you
Delight in beauty,
the ordinary of each day
Be a comfort to others
Let your spirit be at rest
Be a calming presence
in the storms of life
Love God
Love others
Love yourself
This is your calling
Sleep, my child
Be at peace
God is watching
protecting
loving
Draw near to Him
Let yourself relax
Close your eyes
and
sleep

I am honored and blessed that you would choose to use my poem here. Thank you so much! I pray that it will be used to encourage and bless others. Also, I am enjoying your website! I love your gardening analogies with Scripture.

Thanks Gayl. I love this poem and have printed it out so that I can use it too. Hope others find it valuable as well.

I love Gayl’s poetry where she says, “Delight in beauty, the ordinary of each day… Let your spirit be at rest… Love God, Love others, Love yourself.” Words of great wisdom. I am going to have to start reading Gayl’s blog. Thanks for sharing Christine!

It is beautiful isn’t it? I am delighted when I discover new authors and poets who contribute so much to my faith. Glad it spoke to you too Mark.
