When we are feeling proud; A Poem

Thank you Lord
that when we are feeling
proud,
arrogant,
beyond reproach,
pleased with ourselves,
self-sufficient in all our ways,
you remind us
that for people like us
and all of humankind
you sent your Son into the world,
not to condemn us
but to save us from ourselves
before we stumble
fall and are hurt,

Thank you, Lord
that you embrace us
and enable us
to become the people
we were always meant to be,
children of a loving Father
blessing others through your love.
