Sit Still – An Advent Prayer
previous post
As Christmas approaches the tension between the hectic pace of the season and the stillness towards which God beckons us grows. Take a few minutes today to sit in stillness and enjoy the beauty of God’s presence.

Wow… I needed to hear this today… Thanks, Madre ❤️
Your welcome Michael – I posted it on the Light for the Journey page early this morning and then realized that some of the blog readers would also appreciate it. Glad it spoke to you.
Beautiful. Love the image! God bless.
Thanks Shira
Yes, yes, yes! Thank you, Christine, for the consistent beauty and insight in all you write. I’ll highlight this on the Christian Poets & Writers blog http://www.christianpoetsandwriters.com.
Thanks Mary
So much to do still until Christmas. We want people to eat well, we want them to enjoy the beauty of their surroundings so we work hard to clean and garden and prepare food, but to sit still, needs discipline because we are replacing it with what we think we should be doing. Normally I can sit just fine, but not right now. But now is when I must or how will I carry His peace through this season, unless I sit still first and regularly to let it wash over me. How can I carry it to others, unless I seek it and find it deep within myself. Draw my strength and joy from God’s reservoirs within me, and remember the wonder of this Season of His birth.
