When a new year dawns, making resolutions and seeking direction are traditional activities we all embark on. This year is a little different. 2020 and 2021 caught all of us by surprise and upended all our best laid plans. Many of us are entering 2022 with hope and expectation but also with uncertainty. We are unsure that making resolutions for the year will be of any value as 2022 still holds lots of uncertainty.
It seems to me, however, that this is a perfect time to embark on discernment and seek God’s direction. I strongly believe that God is in the process of birthing something new and wants us to be a part of that newness. So it is an ideal time to look, listen, and discern. Spiritual retreats are the perfect way to accomplish that.
