Lent is the 40 day period before Easter recalling Jesus’ temptations in the wilderness. Though practiced slightly differently in the Eastern and Western churches, it is marked by a time of spiritual preparation including fasting, whether from food or from other things such as smoking, television or social media. It is a time to reassess our priorities and seek to simplify our lives.
This guide provides suggested activities for each day of Lent and Easter. It is intended for use in conjunction with the publication in A Journey into Wholeness: Soul Travel for Lent and Easter. However, it can also be used as a stand-alone guide for Lent.
