This year’s Advent video is inspired by Isaiah 30:18 So the Lord must wait for for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. One of the reasons I did not manage to get it uploaded before the beginning of Advent was because I needed to spend time reflecting on the verse and allow it to seep into my soul before I worked on it. I hope you enjoy it.

Here are the words to the prayer/meditation:
LORD, YOU WAIT FOR US
TO COME AND SEE YOU
YOU WAIT TO SHOW YOUR LOVE
UNTIL WE SEEK YOU
LORD, YOU WAIT FOR US
TO COME AND SEE YOU
TO GATHER ROUND YOUR MANGER
WITH FRIEND AND STRANGER
LET US COME WITH THE HUNGRY
AND FEED THEM
LET US COME WITH THE HURTING
AND COMFORT THEM
LET US COME WITH THE DESPISED
AND WELCOME THEM
LORD, YOU WAIT FOR US
TO COME AND SEE YOU
TO SHINE YOUR LIGHT
TO SHOW YOUR LOVE
TO PROCLAIM YOUR PEACE
LET US GATHER TOGETHER
REMEMBERING WHAT IS FULFILLED
PREPARED FOR WHAT WE MUST STILL DO
LET US COME TO THE ONE
WHO WAITS FOR US TO LOVE.

Your welcome Nanette
Christine, thank you for this. Last Sunday I wrote an introduction to my advent reflections on shot at ten paces which said
I am left wondering, when it feels like I am the one left waiting, is that the wake-up call to say I’ve got it the wrong way round? Is it in fact God who is waiting for me to welcome in whatever the Spirit’s wind will bring?
I love the synchronicity. Thank you.
I have been thinking some of the same thoughts Kate. God wants to show us love and compassion but often we shut God out and will not draw close enough for that love to be expressed
Really appreciated this, Christine. I’m curious what version of Scripture you used. The word “must” really grabbed my attention . . . it implies that God knows we will not receive his overtures until we show some degree of openness or interest.
It is from the New Living Translation. Sorry I should have mentioned that in the post.
Wonderful, Chris.
Great to hear from you.
Have a wonderful Christmas.
Rufi
Thanks Rufi. God bless you and your family this Christmas season
