Inhale, Savour, Listen – A New Prayer Garden

by Christine Sine

IMG_7534It is the beginning of a new month and the summer season is in full swing. Here in Seattle we have just gone through the hottest June on record, and this week expect more record breaking temperatures. Keeping the garden watered has taxed my ingenuity and not surprisingly I start thinking about succulents that don’t need much water.

My new prayer garden reflects that. I have taken my favourite prayer from the month and used its central words to create focal points for my morning meditations.

What are you doing to aid your meditative practices this month?

I have been trying out Lecro Divina…A whole new way to meditate on scripture for me.

Wonderful Glenys and I think Lecro Divina sounds far more creative than the traditional lectio divina

Hard to remember this right now… working to “upgrade” a house (turn the garage into a rec room) so we can lose $30K on a sale… poor Denise has been struggling with this and other projects… but we are excited to be moving out of this area and to a new place of vital ministry!

Michael – remember everything has its season and for you this is a season of preparation for new things. I am not sure if you noticed but at the back of my new prayer garden is the quote “new beginnings are often disguised as painful endings and it sounds as though that is where you are at now. Blessings as you get ready for your move.
