Spring Has Arrived

Spring is here

Spring is here

I was just reminded that we are entering spring.  March 20th marks the spring equinox and even though I am still looking out on a cold and wet Seattle I know that there is a promise of warmer weather in the air – the daffodils and crocuses are up, and the almond trees are already in bloom.  I love this time of the year which speaks so powerfully of God’s love and faithfulness.  I was just reading Daily Encouragement Net  and the article was so much in keeping with my sentiments that I thought that you might enjoy these reflections on the faithfulness of God revealed through the seasons.

“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease”  (Genesis 8:22). “Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22,23).

… Consider the steady, yet often ignored, testimony of God’s great faithfulness seen in the changing of the seasons.  Thomas A. Chisolm wrote in the classic hymn, “Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,  Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,  Join with all nature in manifold witness to Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.”  read the entire article here
