Ending the Week at Nickelsville

by Christine Sine

Well the saga of Nickelsville continues as does the saga of homelessness for so many in our world.  The camp has now moved to Native American land at Discovery Park which hopefully may last for a little longer.  I can’t help but be reminded however of our Saviour who was born in a stable because there was no place at the inn.  Definitely no place at the inn for the homeless either.

Monday night Dustin Cross and Jeff Greer held a church service at the camp.  It was attended by about 30 people and they plan to make it a regular event.  They sang one of the songs Jeff had written for our Celtic retreat in August. Here is part of the song

Death is gone for good

Tears are gone for good

Pain is gone for good

Fear is gone good

No more death, no more tears

No more pain, no more fear

Shalom to shalom

His kingdom is come

Shalom to shalom

God’s kingdom is come
